Having problems with solving simple tactical puzzles? Then you should go solving ‘em not-stop all day long and every other day because chess is tactics. Go lichess.org, on your smartphone scroll down to the puzzle diagram below the live game being played by some of the top players, click on the puzzle diagram. There you are. Enjoy!

Keep developing your chess language! Think out loud! For learning purposes always say out loud the logic of the tactics of each task! Remember the Production Effect! Speaking words aids in building your Long-Time Memory!

Tactical HIIT
(High Intensity Interval Training)

  1. Set your timer for 1 minute.
  2. Go count pieces on the board to assess the material balance.
  3. Am I going to be checkmated right now if I play indirect, intermediate move? Ask this question from the side-to-play’s perspective.
  4. Once you have assessed the situation on the diagram, go and click your timer going and solve the puzzle inside 1 minute limit.

Go and register, go to your profile – click your tactical progress icon (target with arrow) – choose Puzzle Dashboard to see your progress in solving tactical Puzzles: your performance (rating), percentage of solved patterns. The most important is the graph below showing your progress in solving the most basic tactical motifs (patterns) with their names. There you namely know your weak and strong tactical angles.

Once you have been caught cheating you are banned and you lose your data, your game stats, you are unable to play and track your progress. Remember that.
